Shadow’s Rest

Rescue K911 has always had a dream…and a need.

And that dream has been to have a building to house just our elderly, our handicapped, and our ‘special needs’ dogs. Nothing fancy, just a heated & cooled building, not kennels, a more home like atmosphere, where our elderly dogs could live their senior years in comfort. Where our handicapped and special needs dogs would also be more comfortable and have an easier stay with us until adoption. Open rooms with soft beds & time with friends.

For years we have talked about it…thought about it…dreamed about it, but financially it always seemed beyond our grasp. But never more than today have we needed this building. As Rescue K911 has grown and gone through the years, some our residents are now age 10-12 & older. Those that have never been adopted. How we would love for them to have this home like atmosphere.

We have the property, just need the building. We have been able to put some finances aside through our fundraising events, and those that have given to this building project we lovingly call ‘Shadow’s Rest’. But it has not been near enough to even get started. But then, we received a wonderful phone call recently from a man who we believe wants to see this dream made into reality as much as we do. He kindly offered to match dollar for dollar every donation that comes in this year, 2010, towards the building project. We are so excited to think that Shadow’s Rest is possible and that we are doing the right thing for our little ones!
