Janice & Ginger

We will never forget how we came to meet Janice!

It was a cold January day when we received her compelling compassionate request.  While coming  home one day she passed a hurt stray dog along the roadside.  Filled with compassion, Janice pulled over and tried to help the injured frightened dog.  Scared, he would not come to her, instead fled back into the woods. Janice was so determined to help him that she followed him all the way back into the woods to where this homeless dog found refuge…a broken down shack.  It would get below freezing that night so Janice  went home and brought back food & blankets for the injured scared dog. That was when she remembered writing down a phone number to a place called Rescue K911 several months earlier.   She has seen a truck parked at Walmart with a Rescue K911 logo magnet (belonging to none other than one of our other wonderful volunteers – Jenny) Upon receiving her urgent call, Larry was able to go and meet Janice and together they were able to get ‘Trooper’ inside a crate and immediately to the vet, Dadeville Animal Hospital for care.  Trooper was in bad shape, he had been shot several times.  His back leg so severely  it could not be saved.  But what a wonderful loving dog, Trooper turned out to be.  Not only did he survive but was adopted by the vet, Dr. Jennifer that cared for him.  A wonderful story all brought about by a wonderful person, Janice.
Since then Janice has rescued several more strays including Ginger, whom you see her holding that has become one of her own personal dogs.
We are so proud to have Janice as a friend and as part of our team.  She comes out to the rescue now volunteering her time and with a mission to pet and help those dogs that just may be a little bit timid or afraid. She has a heart for the homeless and has become a important valuable part of Rescue K911!
“Thank you Janice, and thank you for helping the homeless!”
