Special thanks go out to the FFA Club of Opelika High School who came out to help Rescue K911. They fed and watered the dogs and cleaned the kennels and dog bowls, cleaned the puppy yard, etc. What a wonderful help to us and we appreciate them so much. October kicks off their annual ‘Pitch-In-For Pups’ Campaign where they collect dog food and much needed supplies for the Rescue. What a wonderful help and such a blessing to us.
AU Pre-Vet Students come and volunteer at Rescue K911
It was like Heaven!
We had 33 wonderful Auburn University Pre-Vet Students come to volunteer and help us Saturday! They did it all…from feeding and watering, cleaning pens, washing food pans, repairing kennels, repairing fencing, cleaning puppy pools, dog houses and crates. It was such a blessing to us. Aren’t they beautiful!Â
What a blessing it was to have the Kids In Christ Youth Group come to Rescue K911. What a wonderful group of young people who came to help homeless dogs. Not only did they arrive with their arms filled with cleaning supplies and toys and treats for the dogs –  but they also donated $320.00 in funds they raised  from selling lemonade. What a blesssing! We can’t thank them enough – what a blessing to Rescue K911. Please meet Channing Glenn, Hannah Glenn, Blake Sanders, Anna, Hayden & Dillon Walters – Wonderful kids in Christ!
“Thank you each one! Thanks also to Mom Tia!!! We sure hope you come back soon!”
Larry and I wanted to introduce you to our best friends today.Â
Â
They are the ones behind the scenes that do so much for us and the rescued dogs in our care…. they are our volunteers. A wonderful group of friends that share our vision and want to help the homeless.
Each one means the world to us.Â
Â
Caring for over 100 dogs is a big task and takes a dedicated team, and as you can see, Rescue K911 has been blessed with such a team.
We couldn’t do this work without them.
Coming from all walks of life and professions – there is one thing that binds us together and that we all have in common -  and that is the love for the dogs.
Â
We are so proud to introduce them – aren’t they beautiful!!!!

It is with grateful hearts that we welcome Brandy, our newest friend and volunteer, into the Rescue K911 family.  Brandy comes to us with many years of animal care and vet tech experience and a great love for animals. We are blessed to have her join us and thank her for coming to help the rescued dogs in our care. Welcome Brandy and thank you for helping the homeless & Rescue K911.
It was such a wonderful day yesterday at Rescue K911! We were  blessed to have two professional groomers, Lori Templeton & Jamie Phillips, come and donate their time and talents to help the rescued dogs in our care.Â

It is probably one of the most special days of the year for us!  Opelika High School’s Pitch in forPups Campaign for Rescue K911. A school wide campaign where all the students, faculty and club members come together to reach out to help homeless dogs. Founded by Teacher Mr. Jerry Williamson 6 years ago, Pitch in for Pups continues to grow and bless our Rescue in so many ways each year. This year directed by Ms. AnnaLee Gardner, Ms. Mary Jackson, and Ms. Donna Williamson they raised almost $9,000 worth of food, supplies and donations. What a wonderful help to all our rescued dogs, not only for the help of food, but also help towards our large outstanding vet bill, and recent fencing project.  It is always such an encouragement  to see young people come together and care so much. We could never thank them enough! Thank you everyone at Opelika High School…Go Dawgs!

This wonderful opportunity could not have happened without the generosity and support of our sponsors, Terry Young and Hamp Wyatt of Berney Office Solutions, Gary Kingston of Advanced Graphics, Rodney Jones of Rodney Jones Properties, and Tom Spicer of Tom’s Lawn.
Special thanks to Ann Causey for all her hard work in making this fundraiser a reality for us and such a success.
Many thanks to Auburn University’s Pre-Vet Club for coming out this past Saturday and helping the little ones of Rescue K911. This great group just jumped right in cleaning kennels, feeding & watering, cleaning dog houses & kennel panels, helping to worm & give out flea meds, and even bathing dogs. With their help we were able to accomplish so much. We were so happy to have them, and look forward to their return next month.
“Thank you each one for reaching out to help the homeless dogs of Rescue K911! ”
It was a month long fundraising event for us -   BingoNights at Niffers on the Lake Restaurant. It is always a fun time where we can get out and meet some of our friends & supporters and have a good time raising funds for the rescued dogs of Rescue K911. In this case, the funds were to go to GiGi, an abused Great Dane that had just come into our care. Gigi had a lengthy stay at the vets office recovering from her many wounds, and this event was for her to help with her medical bills.  Every Tuesday night for four weeks the crowds gathered, and our wonderful volunteers, Patti, Karen, Kim, Jenny & Myra worked hard at selling tickets, t shirts and to tell everyone about Rescue K911.  On each of the four nights the jackpot was never won, causing the funds to carry forward until the next week. After our four weeks there, the Jackpot was still not won. In talking with Jenny, she told us that she and Myra were planning on going back the next Tuesday night and try to win the Jackpot for Gigi & Rescue K911…and sure enough they did WIN!!! That night Myra, so excited,  called us to let us know
GiGi sends her love & thanks!
she had  won the Jackpot and was giving the funds to help Rescue K911 – How wonderful is that!!!
We’d like to thank everyone that came out to support us, Special thanks to Myra, Jenny, Patti, Karen & Kim for working so hard at  this event for us. Each one is such a wondeful friend & help to our rescue, and we appreciate them so very much! And thank you Niffer’s Restaurant for reaching out to help the community and homeless dogs!
