A Happy Reunion – A Year Later
Thursday, November 3rd, 2011
These former homeless siblings, rescued at a dumpster location here in Alabama, were fortunate enough to be chosen to travel up to our wonderful friends at Dog Bless Rescue in beautiful Victoria, BC. Now a year later they have reunited for this great picture. Please meet again big brother Oscar, and little Sisters Luna and Katie. (Pixie their other sibling couldn’t make it to the reunion.) We will never be able to express how wonderful it feels when we get pictures like these of happy dogs who have what every dog wants more than anything – a home of their own. We are blessed indeed to have Kim Oldham, and Dog Bless Rescue give our rescued dogs this wonderful opportunity, and want to thank those families that have opened their home to them.
Thank you Kim, and Thank you Dog Bless Rescue!

Special Friends come to Visit
Wednesday, December 1st, 2010Â
Â
You could feel the excitement in the air as two of our most wonderful friends came to visit us all the way from Victoria, BC Canada! Our own Kim Oldham, Director of Dog Bless Rescue and Darcie Jennings of CommuniCanine. As you may know, many of our rescued dogs are chosen by Kim of Dog Bless Rescue to travel to…well…we like to call it Doggie Heaven, beautiful Victoria Island where through Kim,  wonderful loving homes await them. And Darcie who is an expert dog trainer has many of our dogs in her puppy and training classes. It was so wonderful to meet them both in person! We had such a wonderful time learning about their home and culture and they learning about ours. Lots of laughs for sure! We got to enjoy a training session held by Darcie to help us learn some basic skills of training our dogs to make them more adoptable. These two wonderful friends have been such a blessing and help to our rescue, we will never be able to thank them enough! We were sad to see them go, but they did not leave empty handed. They took seven of our rescued dogs with them and three from Elmore County Humane & two from Lake Martin Humane. All but one has already been adopted and gone to their new homes. Hurry back Kim & Darcie…we love & appreciate you so!!!!
Pitch in for Pups
Tuesday, November 30th, 2010“What a Blessing!”
It is probably one of the most special days of the year for us!  Opelika High School’s Pitch in for Pups Campaign for Rescue K911. A school wide campaign where all the students, faculty and club members come together to reach out to help homeless dogs. Founded by Teacher Mr. Jerry Williamson 6 years ago, Pitch in for Pups continues to grow and bless our Rescue in so many ways each year. This year directed by Ms. AnnaLee Gardner, Ms. Mary Jackson, and Ms. Donna Williamson they raised almost $9,000 worth of food, supplies and donations. What a wonderful help to all our rescued dogs, not only for the help of food, but also help towards our large outstanding vet bill, and recent fencing project.  It is always such an encouragement  to see young people come together and care so much. We could never thank them enough! Thank you everyone at Opelika High School…Go Dawgs!
Howl’oween 2010
Thursday, October 28th, 2010Grateful Hearts
Sunday, October 10th, 2010If we could show you just how thankful and and just how important your support means to us today, it would have to be pictures of the two precious homeless pups we rescued just this morning.  Your help enables us to help them and give them all that they need to fully recover, and they will. - Thank you for helping us help them!
Blu and LuLu came in to us just this morning. Both severely undernourished, but they are eating good and up and wagging their tails. We are feeding them every couple of hours. Blu is the one we are most worried about, but he is eating good and so full of kisses and so appreciative of his new home, food and shelter. No doubt both these pups have been on their own for quite a while. We would say they are between 4-5 months of age. Will keep you updated on their progress and am hoping next picture you won’t recognize them.
Thank you for helping us help them!
Special Thanks!
Sunday, September 12th, 2010Many thanks to Auburn University’s Pre-Vet Club for coming out this past Saturday and helping the little ones of Rescue K911. This great group just jumped right in cleaning kennels, feeding & watering, cleaning dog houses & kennel panels, helping to worm & give out flea meds, and even bathing dogs. With their help we were able to accomplish so much. We were so happy to have them, and look forward to their return next month.
“Thank you each one for reaching out to help the homeless dogs of Rescue K911! ”
