HomeComing Day for DeeDee

DeeDee goes home!

We are so happy to report that our little DeeDee, now known as Brittany went to her forever home Monday night. We thank Jenny & Mike for opening their heart and home to one of our most precious rescues. This little girl was found abandonded on a doorstop on a 300 acre property. We don’t know how she survived or how she got there but so glad she did. She is a survivor and now has a loving forever family! We thank everyone that had a part in her rescue and new life! Thank you everyone for helping the homeless like DeeDee/Brittany.

Smokey Joe & Louise – Homecoming Day

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

It was a heartwarming day as not only one of our rescued dogs, Smokey Joe was adopted but also Louise as well.  Thank you Dr. Lisa & Randy and family for opening your heart and home to two of our most precious dogs.  That they will bring you many years of love & happiness is our prayer. What a honor it is to all of us here at Rescue K911 that our own vets would choose our dogs to be their next furry family members! What a blessing! Thank you!

Mamacita with her new family

Mamacita came to us, a precious little pregnant girl abandoned along the roadside.

Mamacita was adopted yesterday by Kristin, Jeff & Caldwell. How wonderful it was to see her now cradled in the arms of a forever family all her own who have promised her a lifetime of love.  She will never be abandoned again. We have received word that Mamacita is doing well and has made herself at home. What a wonderful family, thank you!

The Seven Amigo’s

Thursday, June 9th, 2011
The Seven Amigo’s, Mamacita’s pups, will be leaving us early Saturday morning to fly out to their new home in Victoria, Canada to Dog Bless Rescue. I can honestly say that this is going to be one of the hardest transports we have ever done and having to say goodbye.  We have been with these seven wee ones since the day they were born.  In fact I will never forget Larry crawling into the crate to help Mamacita deliver as she was having a hard time.  We love them dearly.
I wanted to do a little video as a tribute to them and to remember them always. Such a bittersweet time to say goodbye but we know we are letting them go so they can go on to have a wonderful life and have what every dog wants more than anything…a home of their own.
“We will miss you and always love you!”

We were so happy to meet Forrest, Sus an, Emma, Grace & Olive.  What a beautiful family and we were so thankful  they came out to Rescue K911, opening their heart & home adopting one of our most wonderful dogs, Clyde.  We have received word that Clyde  is doing well and  adjusting well to his new family life.

“Thank you so much for giving him this opportunity to have what every homeless dog wants – A loving home of his very own. That Clyde will bring you many many years of love & happiness is our prayer.”

Sugar comes to visit!

Sugar comes to visit

There is nothing…and  I mean nothing that encourages us more here at Rescue K911 than to hear about any of our adopted dogs  from their new families.  Any word at all is so very precious to us,   whether it be by email, or pictures, a phone call, or best yet –  a visit, nothing brightens our day more!

Such was the case just last Saturday, when we received a surprise visit from Megan and her adopted K911 little one, Sugar.

Sugar kisses for Kim

It was so wonderful to see Sugar again and what a great time we had receiving kisses and spending time with one our precious rescues.  Kim especially was touched,  as she had been Sugar’s Foster Mom and it was evident that Sugar remembered her, and all the love she had received in her care.

Sugar came to us, a homeless girl so in need, back in July 2009.  A starving abandoned abused Pitt Mix with a bad case of Demadex, but such a sweet loving nature.  Of course Rescue K911 saw beyond the outside and knew that she would recover with some time, love & medical care, and sure enough she turned into a beautiful dog.  Though her little body will always bear some scars, you won’t even notice them now.  We are so thankful to Megan and Ashley for opening their heart & home to one special loving little girl! ” Thank you for choosing Rescue K911!”

A name of their own

Saturday, August 7th, 2010
Along with food, water, shelter & medical care, it is one of the first things given to every rescued dog upon arrival at Rescue K911…a name of their own.

Please meet Chewaka, Moonshine, Roundup & Shiner (we must be running low on names…ha)  Four little three month old mix breed pups,  found abandoned at a dumpster location in Opelika by a kind hearted lady who reached out to help them.  It is always so heartbreaking when we learn of dogs & cats so easily discarded and thrown out with the trash, and our heart went out to them.  However, at the time Rescue K911 was contacted to help we were at maximum capacity, and did not have an empty space anywhere.   We are so thankful to Anna & Marian for not giving up, and going the extra mile finding them a temporary place, and  Dr. Kukendahl for allowing them to board at his vet office until we had space available. These pups are so precious, loving & playful we are so happy that we had some adoptions & eventually could help them.

Their arrival though finds us at the end of a very long busy summer where donations are always at their lowest and the needs at the highest & at times can be overwhelming.  To be honest, we sure could use help towards their medical needs (Shiner has a broken leg, and all have had bouts with Ringworm) and their upcoming spay & neuter surgeries.  If you would like to sponsor (or adopt)  Chewaka, Moonshine, Roundup or Shiner  – we sure could use your help and would be most thankful. Please contact us.
♥♥♥Special thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Kim & Patti for helping the puppies feel at home and get settled in their new rescue home today.  As you can see from the video, the pups are so very loving and sweet and now they finally have a most important thing – a name of their own.♥♥♥

Ace, Amber & Aussie

Ace, Amber & Aussie

We can’t believe it has been two years since we rescued these three little pups,  Ace, Amber & Aussie along the rural roadside.  Looking back into our files, we found this little video of their rescue.  We have now  updated it to include how they look today up in their new homes in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.  We are so thankful to Dog Bless Rescue (www.dogbless.ca)  for helping these precious pups, along with so many others, find such wonderful loving forever families.  Please watch this short little video and see their amazing journey…from finding themselves abandoned without hope –  to now having such wonderful happy lives.  To see this sure makes all the work we do here at Rescue K911  worthwhile.  Many thanks to each one of you for all your love & support to us, as it makes a difference in the lives we save.  And thank you Dog Bless Rescue for reaching out to us & giving some of our rescued dogs such a wonderful opportunity for a better life. We are certainly blessed indeed!
