Jasper – In Loving Memory

Jasper

We always enjoy hearing from our Rescue K911 Family. There are times that we rejoice along with you when we receive pics of your newly adopted furry family members, and then moments that we weep along with you when we receive news of your beloved pet passing.  Such was the case recently when we received this heartfelt letter from Totsie, and her loving tribute to Jasper.

Dear Rescue K911:
Of all the dogs I’ve had in my life, Jasper came to me in the worst shape – skin & bones, heartworms, etc – from being abandoned and on his own for too long. He was the sweetest, most gentle and loving of any dog I’ve known. He was maybe 4-7 years old then and I had him for another 11 years. He and I spent many days and hours at the vet office and at AU Vet School. He had a torn ACL, then severe dog bite by a neighbor’s dog, then diabetes, then cataracts, then deaf…but he never complained! I miss him with all my heart! Love, Totsie

(Totsie, please know all our thoughts & prayers are with you as you go through this difficult time.)

The memory of precious friends will never leave or lives, for deep within our heart of hearts, their spirit still survives.

Though time may bring us new friends and help our hearts to heal, there will always be that one place…only they could fill!

Our most recent rescue

Monday, June 14th, 2010

He came to us just today. We found him in our back barn area sitting in a corner.
Not sure where he came from or how he got there, but knew for sure he needed help.
Please meet our most recent rescue, Hootie…

Hootie

Upon closer look, it does appear as if Hootie may have a broken wing, and we will be taking him to the Auburn University Raptor Center for care.  He sure is beautiful and we were glad we were able to help such a magnificent creature.

Mason & Nilla

To see a precious little homeless dog that had at one time been so easily discarded, abandonded and unloved, only to find them now cradled in the arms of someone that has opened their heart & home pledging a lifetime of love just for them.  What could be more heartwarming & encouraging!  It makes all the work we do here at Rescue K911 worthwhile!

Please meet Mason and his new furry family member, Nilla.  Mason came out to Rescue K911  adopting one of our most precious rescued dogs, Nilla.  That they will have a lifetime of love & happiness together is our prayer.

“Thank you Mason for choosing Rescue and welcome to the K911 family!”

Bow-Wow!

Our newest arrival – Nolan

Baby Nolan

He came in to us just this morning.  A sweet little pup, not even 5 weeks old, weighting 3-4 pounds.  Found running in the middle of a busy Highway, Hwy 280. Thankfully a kind man with a love for dogs pulled over to the side of the road, Coach Nolan, and was able to run out &  save the little pup.  Unable to keep the pup himself, and hearing about Rescue K911, Coach brought the little pup to us. In only a short period of time, this little baby has endeared himself to us, running and playing and exploring, now all safely and away from traffic.

“ Thank you so much Coach Nolan for saving this little homeless pup.

We named him after you…Nolan.”

Fish & Chips?

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

It would be another quick supper for Larry & me here at Rescue K911.  But one that would make us stop & take a double look.  Have we been rescuing dogs for too many years??  Is the  Gorton Fisherman playing tricks on us??? And what are the odds that in all the world, we would receive such a odd looking fish stick?? All we could do was smile and put aside this special little guy who looked like he needed rescue.  Bow-Wow!
