Welcome to Rescue K9-1-1's Web site. We are a companion animal rescue group located in Tallapoosa County, Alabama that rescues stray, lost, and abandoned animals. We are an all-volunteer organization operating solely on donations & help from those that love animals. Over the last eight years we have rescued over 600 precious little ones from the streets of loneliness & starvation. We appreciate you visiting us, and 'thank you for helping the homeless!' Your support means so much to us, and makes all the difference in what we can accomplish, reaching out to help the homeless.

Rescue K911 is dedicated to:
  • The rescue of lost and homeless animals in our community.
  • Providing food, shelter and vet care to those in need.
  • Promoting Spay & Neutering to end the suffering of over-population and unwanted animals.
  • Adoption of healthy animals back into loving homes.

Our life began to change the day we were coming home from town taking one of our back rural roads. We rounded a corner and right in the middle of the road was one of the saddest sights we had ever seen. Lying in the middle of the road was what we thought to be a puppy: a small dog nothing but a skeleton, sagging skin, almost completely bald with mange, covered with fleas and ticks. Without thought or hesitation we jumped from the car, reached out and scooped up this little guy rushing him home to bathe, feed, and care for him. Little "Snickers" was so weak upon giving him a bath that night that he collapsed in our arms. We didn't even know if he woulld live through the night. The next day the vet gave us no hope on whether or not he would make it...he had been so long under nourished that his vital organs no doubt had been compromised. He also said that our "puppy" was almost a year old and had been starving for a long time. We are happy to say that little Snickers did make it and is still with us today.

Little did we know then that this was to be the beginning of our calling and would be our purpose in the years to come. For the past eight years, since the day we that found Snickers, we have rescued over 600 dogs and 34 cats. Now on any given day, Rescue K911 has over 100 'little ones' in our care.
